June is National Safety Month! The
National Safety Council will be featuring a different safety topic each week. This week's feature is
Summertime Safety.
Since I'm going on vacation, and I'm sure everyone wants to know what next week's feature is, I'm going to let the cat out of the bag early: next week is
Overexertion. Here's the blurb from the NSC website- "
Overexertion
is the third leading cause of unintentional injuries in the United
States, accounting for about 3.3 million emergency department visits.
Whether at work or home, you can take steps to prevent overexertion."
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also has great resources available for
planning ahead for disasters and also summaries of recent
large-scale incidents.
It's best to be prepared! (note: neither the NSC nor the CDC cover zombies, so you're on your own for that)
And some happenings around the State-
The Kansas Historical Society will be having a flower exhibit throughout June. See
their website for more information.
