Happy July everyone! Check out our photo album of the Old Settler's Reunion on this site or on Facebook. While you're on Facebook, go ahead and "Like" us. You'll get all kinds of great stuff in your newsfeed like courthouse closing updates, emergency alerts, and reminders when your taxes are due. Fun, huh?
Info from the State & Feds has been pretty slow lately, but there are a few noteworthy things going on.
- As of today, the speed limit on many portions of Kansas interstates is now 75 mph. See proof from KDOT!
- The Census Bureau will be closing their Kansas City Regional Office. More details.
- The CDC usually posts a lot of stuff to Twitter about how it's Such-and-Such Awareness Month, but I think their social media person is on vacation or something. They did, however, post a link to an article about rabid vampire bat attacks in Peru. They also want to remind you to create an emergency plan for your family.
For the 4th of July weekend, all of the surrounding Emergency Management Agencies would like to remind you that it's extremely hot right now, so be smart, and be safe with your fireworks. Happy Independence Day!
