Just in case your weekends seemed to be getting emptier, there’s a lot going on in Jefferson County in September! If you haven’t had the chance, check out some of the events posted on our Community Calendar. You can sign up to receive email or text notifications of new community events by going to that page and clicking on the words “Notify Me.” Follow the directions for entering your contact information, then scroll down to the bottom of the page & find “Community Events” under the “Calendar” heading. You can also sign up for lots of other notifications if you want. I’d recommend the “Emergency Alert” under “News Flash” just in case.
But back to what’s going on in Jefferson County!
Be sure to check out the Perry Lecompton Farmers’ Market every Friday afternoon from 4:00-6:30 PM at Hwy 24 & Ferguson Road. Their last day is October 14, so head out soon to stock up on local produce, baked goods, and crafts.
The Perry Fall Festival is September 9-10 complete with a softball tournament, BBQ competition, chain saw carving, live music & more!
The weekend after (Sept. 16-18), you can check out the McLouth Threshing Bee & Steam Engine Show.
The weekend after, kick off the festivities by supporting the Keystone Learning Center and special education in Jefferson County in their 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Walk on September 24.
Also the weekend of September 24-25, head over to Meriden for the 33rd Fall Festival and Swap Meet.
If you know of other Jefferson County happenings to be included in the Community Calendar in the next few months, please let me know at kjordan@jfcountyks.com.
