Josh Ney was sworn into a
four-year term as Jefferson County Attorney on January 8, 2017. Ney’s other
legal experience includes service as the Kansas Securities Commissioner, the
Jefferson County Counselor, Commissioner on the Kansas Human Rights Commission,
and several years in private practice. Ney started his legal career in the
Jefferson County Attorney’s Office as an Assistant CA under then-County
Attorneys Caleb Stegall and Bob Fox.
Ney graduated with dean's
honors from the Washburn University School of Law and served as a published
staff writer on the Washburn Law Journal. Ney is a member of several
professional organizations, including the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas
County and District Attorneys Association, and the Federalist Society of Kansas.
Ney is active in his church and lives on a farm with his wife, Carol, and their
children in rural Jefferson County.
